Stellar Tera Pokémon are here!

Check out the new Stella Tera type Pokémon!

So where to start on the Stella Crown set? With so many goodies in this set to pick up, it’s going to be a ripper!

My top favourite card in the set is Joltik. It gets a lot of love as it is the second art card Joltik has received in the Scarlet and Violet series but they have taken him to the next level! Joltik’s attack can search the deck for 2 grass and 2 electric energy and add them onto any Pokémon. This is the energy acceleration I'm talking about! It even helps out with the evolved form, Galvantula ex, which uses both electric and grass in its energy needs.

For those paying close attention, you will notice that the new Stella Tera type Pokémon need 3 different types of energy for one of their attacks. And of course their rainbow borders!

Some ones to watch are these three. Marowak could be a decent single prize attacker, Bone Vengance can be easily achieved with a double turbo energy and some damaged cubone on the bench. Medicham ex, also with double turbo energy knocks your opponent active down to 50HP, similar to what Tseranna ex does taking any opponents Pokémon down to 30HP. I would say Tseranna is the better choice but I’m interested to see the combos that Medicham will be paired with. Lastly Hydrapple ex, syrup storm is going to be an excllent attack pairing with Teal Mask Ogerpon and a couple of tackful energy accerlating trainers, I can see this being a real challenge for the Charizards and Roaring Moons out there.

Our other stella tera types are showing some promise, Terapagos ex is a bit of a power house by itself, but will also pair nicely into any deck, including out stella types, with some playing up to 8 spots now on their bench, I’m sure you will have no problem finding two energy to power the first attack. Lapras ex, Power splash does have the advantage over Chien-Pao ex where you don’t lose the energy after every attack but I don’t see people getting the second attack underway. Maybe as a partner to Chien-Pao but I doubt Lapras ex will run on its own.
Cinderace ex is a heavy hitter, 280 for fire and 2 colourless, that’s almost all stage 1 ex and all vstar Pokémon being played out for the count. If you want to hit hard and love retreating for free, you have to try Cinderance ex out!

Next the deck staples, Pokémon will be Noctowl and Fan Rotom. Noctowl to be able to search for ANY 2 TRAINERS with a Tera Pokémon in play and Fan Rotom can summon a bench load of Pokémon, such as Hoothoots and Noctowls. A very nice pairing. Also Far Rotom can one shot a Mimikyu, so I would definitely invest in these guys.

Actually a really good set for trainer. Gravity Stone (think Toedscruel ex). A lot of support for the Tera types, new and old, some supporters who will definitely be seeing play. And my favourite, Aero Zero Underdepths, welcome back 8 Pokémon benches! It’s going to get busy. 

And lastly a feast for your eyes, these are just some of the best Art Rares from the set. I’m sure I will be adding a few to my collection!
