The Return of the Dragons: Tarkir Dragonstorm
Set in the mythic plane of Tarkir, this exciting set delves into the resurgence of dragonkind and the tumultuous power struggles that ensue.
The Mythic Plane of Tarkir
Tarkir is a plane rich in history and conflict. Once dominated by dragons, it saw the extinction of these majestic creatures due to the clans' relentless wars and the cunning strategies of Planeswalker Sarkhan Vol. However, the timeline was altered by Vol, resulting in a present where dragons once again rule supreme, reshaping the very fabric of Tarkir’s society and politics.
The Dragonstorm Arc
Tarkir: Dragonstorm end a 1-year story arc called the Dragonstorm Arc. This also included sets Bloomburrow, Duskmourn: House of Horror and Aetherdrift. Dragonstorms have gone out of control since Ugin left Tarkir, which in combination with the newly formed Omenpaths has resulted in Tarkir dragons appearing in different planes.
The Five Dragonlords
The resurgence of dragons brought about the rise of five Dragonlords, each ruling over a distinct brood and embodying unique characteristics and powers:
- Dromoka - A symbol of strength and endurance, Dromoka leads a brood that values unity and protection.
- Ojutai - The wise and cunning, Ojutai's brood excels in intellect and mastery of the elements.
- Silumgar - A master of deception and death, Silumgar's dragons are feared for their dark powers.
- Kolaghan - Representing speed and ferocity, Kolaghan's brood is relentless in their pursuit of victory.
- Atarka - A force of raw power and destruction, Atarka's dragons embody the primal fury of Tarkir.
