Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy crossover has arrived, bringing a wave of exciting events and exclusive collectibles for fans of both franchises. Whether you're a seasoned planeswalker or a Final Fantasy veteran, this promo season offers a variety of ways to engage with the set and earn unique rewards.

Epic Events to Join

The Final Fantasy promo season is packed with events designed to immerse players in the world of Final Fantasy while enjoying Magic’s strategic gameplay.

Prerelease Events - In Hobby Lords Stores June 6, 7 and 8

Prerelease events are the first opportunity to play with the new set before its official release. Players receive a Prerelease Kit, which includes:

• Six Play Boosters filled with Final Fantasy-themed cards.
• A traditional foil year-stamped rare or mythic rare card.
• A deck box to store your cards.
• A spindown die—one in twenty packs contains a special acrylic version.

Attending 2 or more prerelease events can earn players a velvet pouch to store their crystal counters.

Magic Presents: Chocobo Racing

This weekly event series lets players compete in Booster Draft or Sealed Deck formats while earning points for participation, match wins, and bringing friends to play. Rewards include:

• A Chocobo art print at 10 points.
• A Chocobo Pinfinity AR Pin at 20 points.
• Players earn 3 points for each Draft or Sealed event they attend (excluding Prerelease events).
• Players earn 1 point for each match they win in a qualifying event.
• Players earn 1 point for bringing in a new player who signs up for a Wizards Account and participates in a Chocobo Racing event.

Commander Party Events

Commander Party events offer a unique multiplayer experience with special rules and play aids. Participants receive Commander Party promos, such as Despark and Culling Ritual, with WPN Premium stores offering traditional foil versions.

 

Store Championship (Competitive Play)

For those looking to test their skills, Store Championship events in Standard Format provide high-stakes competition with exclusive promo cards:

• Preordain (Participation promo).
• Death’s Shadow (Top 8 promo).
• City of Brass (Winner promo).

Participate in our weekly Standard Showdowns for your chance to win one of these amazing promos!

 

Magic Academy

Bring your friends, and help them learn Magic for a great Dragon's Hoard promo!

• At Magic Academy: Learn to Play, players use Welcome Decks or any starter product to learn the basic rules and play their first games.
• At Magic Academy: Deck Building, players use six Play Boosters to build their first deck and experience Limited-format Magic.

Exclusive Promo Items

Beyond event participation, players can collect a variety of promotional items throughout the season.

Crystal Counters & Velvet Pouches

Players attending prerelease events receive a collectible d10 spindown crystal counter, with a matching d20 version appearing in one out of twenty packs. Those who attend at least 2 events can earn a velvet pouch to store their counters.

Buy-a-Box Promo

Purchasing a full display box of Final Fantasy Play or Collector Boosters grants players a Herald’s Horn promo card, featuring artwork of a moogle.

Photoflyer Tokens

At participating WPN Premium stores, players can have their photo taken and inserted into a Photoflyer frame, creating a personalized token.
