Getting started with Pokémon

A new adventure in sight!

Welcome to the world of Pokemon! - The huge worldwide phenomenon where cute(and sometimes angry) looking Pokemon battle it out to see who is the best!

 

This game is for everyone, Pokémon is a super fun and rewarding card game for both adults and kids alike. 

We have seen families, teenagers and adults jump right in and begin learning the ins and outs of the game.

If you are brand new and never played a card game in your life then this is one of the easier ones to pick up.

 

 

Starting out having a deck is the single most important item to have. You can pick one up straight out of the box and there are several levels to choose from, or you can use one of the spare decks in store while you learn to play.

Level 1 - for our junior most players we would recommend a My First Battle Deck to understand the basics of game play, or for older players a battle deck.

Level 2 - a Deluxe Battle deck where more complex interactions and cards with advanced strategies

Level 3 - League Battle decks for experienced players

 

        

 

To learn how to play, we encourage new players to attend our casual collect and play Pokémon nights are Thursdays from 6:30pm. From this time you are more than welcome to come in and learn to play with either the staff or one of the players instore. 

For returning players, you might like to attend our Tuesday 6:30pm Pokémon Hobby League nights which is all about the playing side.

Keep an eye out for our Prerelease events or Learn to Play that pops up in the future too!

 

And maybe one day, you'll become a Pokemon Master - playing at the world tournaments alongside the best players!
